ENROLLING

Will an mHealth intervention help people co-use alcohol and opioids less?

This study will examine a smartphone app that provides strategies to help people think about and potentially reduce their use of alcohol and opioids together.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine a smartphone app that provides strategies to help people think about and potentially reduce their use of alcohol and opioids together. We hope that this app may help young adults cut back or quit using these substances together. Everyone who participates in the study will receive the smartphone app.

What we’re looking for

What taking part looks like

  1. A phone call, about 10 minutes

We ask some questions to see whether the study might fit. Nothing is decided on this call.

  2. A virtual screening visit

You meet the study team, we explain everything in detail, see if you are eligible for the study, and you decide whether to enroll.

  3. Four weeks of the study

You will use an app on your phone for four weeks and meet with the study team 2 weeks after you start the study.

  4. A final visit

We wrap up, answer questions, and can connect you with ongoing care if you want it.

You can stop at any time

Taking part is your choice. You can leave the study whenever you want, for any reason, and it will not affect care you receive at Bradley Hospital or anywhere else.

Who sees your information

What you tell us stays with the study team. Study records are kept separate from your medical chart.
