ENROLLING
Can iPAWS help people cope with pain after wisdom tooth surgery?
This research study is about learning whether iPAWS (Improving Pain Management After Wisdom Tooth Surgery), an online education program, helps young people cope with pain after wisdom tooth extraction surgery.
We're testing whether iPAWS — an online educational program — helps young people cope with pain after wisdom tooth extraction surgery. Everyone in the study also receives education materials regarding pain management before and after surgery.
Parents/caregivers are also encouraged to participate!
What we’re looking for
What taking part looks like
A phone call, about 5 minutes
We ask some questions to see whether the study might fit. Nothing is decided on this call.
A virtual visit with us via Zoom
You will meet the study team, we explain everything in detail, see if you are eligible, and you decide whether to enroll.
Six weeks of study participation
You will meet with us twice before your surgery and twice after. You will use an app on your phone for up to 6 weeks and may receive the iPAWS program.
A follow up visit
Three months after your surgery, you will have a final visit with us via Zoom.
You can stop at any time
Taking part is your choice. You can leave the study whenever you want, for any reason, and you will get paid up until that point.
Who sees your information
What you tell us stays with the study team. We describe exactly what your parent does and does not see before you enroll, so there are no surprises. Study records are kept separate from your medical chart.
